Despite our 130-year heritage we still have room to grow! Hurtigruten is going through change - change at virtually all levels of the business. We are now in the need of a new HR Business Partner based in Oslo, but other locations can be discussed.

For 130 years, we've been committed to continuously improving what we do for our guests and the people we work with. As HR Business Partner you will join the journey to "Provide a People Experience that's as good as our products". Hurtigruten have offices and employees all around the world, and this role will be working with employees from multiple countries. Therefore, we are looking for someone with international experience within HR and who has good knowledge of international employment law.

As HR Business Partner you will report to VP People & Culture.

About the role :

As HR Business Partner you will act as the local point of contact for HR related topics for managers and employees on designated vessels/destinations/countries, and proactively support local managers in all HR related processes to assure compliance with company policy.

  • Develop, update, and implement global and/or local HR policies and procedures.
  • Delivering and/or developing training, employee engagement programs, rolling out HR campaigns, in partnership with the key stakeholders as needed.
  • Providing advice and assistant to global and local managers on policies, procedures, legislation, and agreements, also employee relations, performance, and staff management.
  • Drive the design and implementation of People Services function including the identification, hiring, and training of appropriate team members.
  • Review, update and implement organisational procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Ensure cases and inquiries are resolved or reassigned to appropriate expert resources based on priority level.
  • Regularly consult with the People function and business leaders to ensure service scope, levels and overall contribution of the teams are meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Maintaining employee related documentation (Employment contracts, job descriptions, contract changes, agreements, salary records) according to current legislation.
  • Ensuring equality across the various countries (routines, emoloyee manuals, employee benefits etc.)
  • Dialogue with various trade unions from relevant countries
  • Other work tasks can be assigned based on local- and company needs.

Your Experience :

  • Experienced leader with hands-on experience in People Operations, within a complex matrixed organisation and geographically dispersed team.
  • A degree in relevant area of business or 5+ years of experience in HR.
  • Prior experience managing process excellent, project initiatives with change management experience.
  • Excellent Communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English (both written and verbal).
  • Experience and good understanding of international employment laws and international HR policies/procedures.
  • Experience in conducting employee relations investigations & disciplinary conversations.
  • Understanding of maritime regulations.
  • Experience with various HR platform tools.
  • Experience writing guidelines and procedures across multiple countries.
  • Experience with CBAs and Trade Union negotiations.
